The city’s cultural life is full of events most of them taking place in the Olt County Museum, “Eugen Ionescu”Cultural Centre, Culture House Olt and other similar venues. “Eugen Ionescu” Cultural Centre houses the “Eugen Ionescu” Theater which, due to the fact that does not have a building of its own, it has to organize its activity in other locations.
The city also has a county fanfare and a chorus, the “Millennium” Chorus, both of them housed by the above mentioned cultural centre. The Olt County Museum welcomes tourists with its three main collections, the archeology-history, the modern and contemporary art and ethnography, all housed by a beautiful building, a historical monument built in 1887.
