Obrenovac Serbian town got its name stems from last name "Obrenović" which in turn stems from name "Obren" in Serbian language. The municipality has a total population of 71,419 inhabitants. Obrenovac is one of Belgrade's 17 municipalities.
Obrenovac is located 30 km south-west of Belgrade near bends of wonderful river Sava to the north. Kolubara river flows to the east of the town on its way to join the Sava.
In the center of the town you cand find a green market, and also flea market to the south of the town on the Valjevo road. Obrenovac is also known for its famous footbal team, FK Radnički Obrenovac; its stadium is beside the Belgrade road.
The housing areas in the town are Topolice, Rojkovac, Dudovi and Stočnjak. The oldest school in the town is found next to Topolice and has the name of Jovan Popović. It was built by Miloš Obrenović.
