   Welcome to Mouscron!

   Mouscron is a town from Belgium located in the Walloon Region , also being the capital district in the province of Hainaut . Mouscron is part of Hainaut Occidental , but also the cultural region of Flanders Romanesque . The symbol of the city is the Hurlu. Day Hurlus or the town festival is celebrated annually on the first weekend of October. The city has seen significant growth in the xix th century and especially at the beginning of the xx th century with the development of the textile industry in northern part of France. Its inhabitants are called Mouscron.

   Mouscron has a lot of things to offer. From all the great places that worth a visit, the Folklore Museum of Leon Maes is a must. This is the place where you can take part to many activities, courses, workshops, discoveries of intangible heritage, audio-guided five courses and a documentation center on well-researched history, daily life and heritage of Mouscron.

   The Coffee Museum Wap Doo Wap is an amazing place that provides with a vintage jukebox, sixties decor, posters, album covers, pictures that will resurrect the glory days of Ye-Ye Mouscron music. This place just does not evoke the past. It gives an opportunity for old and new groups to perform there regularly live.

   The place which is home to temporary art events is called the Museum of Fine Arts, the old municipal swimming pool with a clear and functional architecture characterized by horizontal lines, harmonious, ocher bricks and a large skylight glass. The Centre Marius Staquet is a place with a modern architectural ensemble which is composed mainly of three places: the Theatre Raymond Devos, Andrew Demeyère - the auditorium space and Jacques Brel (vast showroom of 1000 m).

   You should also see the Public Library, the Academy of Music, Theatre, Dance and Fine Arts, the Centr'Expo which is the place for fair exhibitions, fairs and events, the factory studio, concert hall, El Bar (which is an alternative bar and concert hall), the Studio RQC (Radio which chifel) Radio Free Region Mouscron and the amazing Citizen Space "From Aut'Côté" which provides with exhibition, performances, lectures, debates and workshops regularly.
