Hall is a town in the district of Tyrol in Austria at 574 m above sea level, located located on the Inn Valley , about about 5 km (3 mi) east of the state's capital Innsbruck . Between the 1938 to 1974 years, Hall was called the "Solbad Hall."
Hall in Tirol is well known because it is said it is one of the best kept and well preserved towns in Austria. Hall in Tirol was once a prime economic centre and has been an important place thanks to its salt mines. Today you will find here a function complex, converted from the former spa rooms. You will love to take your time and enjoy a relaxing steam bath, do some sauna or just a public bath.
If you take a look in and around the city, you will discover one of the best places that gathers together in a succesful way the modern architecture with the historical buildings. The old town offers an outstanding medieval atmosphere in the Upper Town Square with its beautiful town hall, a council chamber which is often used for any kind of celebrations and important events such as weddings and the imposing gothic parish Church of St. Nicholas.
Several festivals run throughout the year, and there are some prime tourist attractions in Hall that are worth visiting. You will also be pleased to see and visit the Sacred Heart basilica that provides with elements of the Renaissance period and at the southeast side, the small town of Salvator Church. You will also find in the old town the Mining Museum. This is the perfect place to find out how things worked so many years ago, how miners used to do hard work and how they were paid for that. All the stories of the past are kept here in the walk in tunnels, shafts and slides speacial created for visitors.
