Hateg is a city in Hunedoara, Transylvania, Romania. It has a population of 10,935 inhabitants.
Prislop monastery, 13 km northwest of Hateg, founded by the monk Nicodemus, in 1404, with the support of Prince Mircea the Old. It was built in the conch and the only plan of its kind in Transylvania. The second founder of the monastery was Mr. Zamfir.
