Bačka Topola is situated at 146 km north of Belgrade, in the Krivaja River valley. It can be reached by the Belgrade-Novi Sad-Subotica-Budapest highway.
The city is rich in touristic attractions, like the beautiful baroque style buildings, for example. One of the attractions of the town you mustn't miss is the pseudo-gothic Catholic Church, built in 1905, that has a tower of 74 metres. Also do not miss the Native House, the milling museum, and the Blacksmith-Cartwright workshop.
Close to the town, about 8 km, you can visit Mali Iđoš, a little beautiful village. The wonderful surroundings are a great opportunity for hunting. You should know that here you can join one of the town's regularly scheduled literary meetings, if you are interested in books.
Another small town to visit near Bačka Topola, is Srbobran. The Grand Bač Canal passes the city, which is considered one of the most developed small towns in Vojvodina region. The town's name, Srbobran, means defender of Serbs, and it dates from the 1848 revolution.
Exploring Backa Topola’s surroundings, do not miss Turija and Nadalj villages. In Turija you can take part to the annual Sausage Festival, or enjoy the best sausage in one of the restaurants. Nadalj will also impress you with the smell of an old world !
